Manuel King Dies In Santa Clara Sunday
Year’s Illness Ends For Well Known Plumber

Manuel M. King, a resident of San Rafael for thirty years, where he was engaged in the plumbing business, died at the home of his brother-in-law, John George, in Santa Clara last Sunday night.

Death came after a year’s suffering from a complication of diseases, from which he strove to recover by seeking a change in climate.

He is survived by his wife, Frances King, and two daughters, Miss Melva King and Mrs. Gwendolyn Bosch, all of San Rafael, and two sisters, Mrs. A. T. Freitas of San Rafael and Mrs. May Morris of Woodacre.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday at Santa Clara from the Notman chapel, and interment was in that city.

Mr. King was 52 years of age. He came to this country from the Azores in 1900, and within a few days after arriving became connected with the Kinsella Company and later with the Shields Company, plumbers.

He was also in business for himself for a number of years until failing eyesight forced him to __?__ and seek relief from the affliction.

During the 1906 earthquake and fire, when San Francisco lay __?__, King was a member of Company D of San Rafael, guarding the ruins from marauders.

King was also a member of the local lodge of Odd Fellows, and the Portuguese Lodge , U.P.E.O.
