Julius H. Selinger

Julius H. Selinger, a San Rafael attorney and longtime Marin resident, died Monday at a local hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 79.

There are no services planned.

A native of Austria, Selinger came to the United States in 1913, settling in Chicago. He moved to Marin County in 1948 and had lived in Sleepy Hollow since then.
Selinger began his law practice in 1926 following his graduation from Chicago Kent College of Law.

After moving to Marin, Selinger served as the general counsel to the Marin County Board of Realtors. He was also chairman of the Marin County Personnel Commission and Assessment Appeals Board.

In addition to his practice, which he retired from about five years ago, Selinger had taught real estate law for both the University of California and the College of Marin.

He is survived by his wife, Goldye D. Selinger of Sleepy Hollow; his son, Paul Selinger of Fairfax; one daughter, Helen Pearlman of San Jose; and five grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
