George Grady While In Bed Is Stricken
A sudden attack of heart trouble, from which he had been suffering since returning from overseas, took the life of George J. Grady, prominent __ang business man this morning.
Waking(?) from sleep shortly after 5 o’clock Mr. Grady complained to his wife of severe pains, and when Mrs. Grady returned to the bed after calling Dr. R. G. Dufficy, her husband had breathed his last. The doctor arrived a few moments later but his service was of no avail. Death was instaneous.
Grady was 32 years of age, and leaves a wife and two children – a daughter, Marion, aged 5 years, and a son, Robert,, aged 3. He is the son of Mrs. M. Grady and the late John _?_ Grady. Three brothers survive him. They are Walter, Clarence and James Grady.
Funeral service will be held Saturday____ at 8;30 from St. Ra______ high_______ arrangements are under the direction of the Sawyer Company of this city. The body has been taken to the home of Mrs. M. Grady, mother of the deceased living at 115 B street. Following a brief service here Saturday the remains will be taken to the Catholic Church at the head of A street.
George Grady was born and reared in this city. After leaving school he helped his father in the wood and coal business and later became a brakeman in the employ of the N.W.P.R.R. Co. When war was declared, Grady joined a regiment and went over seas, where he attained the rank of lieutenant. Returning from Europe young Grady joined with his mother in the grocery business and later returned to railroading. He was married to Alma Buchanan, and a few years ago established a floral business on Fourth street, where he has since enjoyed a thriving business.
He was a member of the local council of Knights of Columbus, a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, and a short time ago became a member of the San Rafael Lodge of Elks.
