John Knightly

John Brandon Knightly of Corte Madera, retired naval warrant officer, died suddenly at his home yesterday.

Knightly, 52, of 11495 Casa Buena Drive, had lived in Marin County about seven years.

He was a native of Holyoke, Mass., and served in the Navy 24 years before retiring in 1962 at Treasure Island.

He was a member of San Rafael Elks Lodge 1108 and the Retired Officers Association.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Church in Larkspur. Burial will follow at mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper mentions Mr. Knightly’s wife, Vera, and says he was the nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Foerster of Massachusetts.
