Joseph Bello, 88, Of Novato, Called
Joseph Bello, who has lived in the Novato and Lakeville areas for the past 50 years, died in a hospital here Monday at the advanced age of 88 years. His 99th (sic) birthday would have been in March.
Mr. Bello on January 13 of this year suffered a fall and although he appeared to temporarily recover from the shock, complications developed and he showed a rapid decline in health.
Funeral services were conducted at Petaluma this (Thursday) morning.
Mr. Bello was a native of the Azores Islands, and came to this country when he was 15 years of age, and became a citizen at 21. He spent about 18 years at Novato, and 32 in Lakeville area in the Black Point district. He was a member of the U.P.E.C. lodge of Petaluma.
He was the father of Frank Bello, Petaluma; Mrs. M. Rodgers, Oakland; Tony Bello, Petaluma; Mrs. Ed Beggs, Novato; Miss Anna Bello, Oakland, and the late Joe Bello. He was an uncle of Manuel Nunes, Mrs. L. Lemos, of Novato; Mrs. R. Silva, Arcata, and the Bello family of Gustine.
