Frank Bernard, Old Time Resident Dead

The news of the passing of Frank Bernard, pioneer Marin county man, comes as a sad reminder of the old days to the residents here for many years.

Bernard, who was never married, lived for many years at Nicasio. He had his own woodchoppers and hauled wood from Nicasio to San Rafael and other places in the county with his splendid five horse team.

He was a native of the Azores. For the last thirty years he has lived at Marshall in the colony there. His exact age is not known but old timers state he was over ninety.

The funeral services for Bernard, who died yesterday, are being held at Marshall this afternoon at two o’clock and burial will be in the Marshall cemetery.
