The many friends of Miss Emily Baraty will be grieved to hear of her sad death. She was suffering from appendicitis and was compelled to have an operation performed. The operation was performed last Friday and it was hoped by her family that it would be successful but Saturday night she breathed her last. Miss Baraty was the youngest daughter of Jean Baraty, our local butcher, and was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was very accomplished and sang in the choir of St. Mary’s Church. The funeral which was held Tuesday was largely attended by her many friends who gathered to pay their last tribute of respect to this young lady.

Miss Pauline Baraty, sister of the deceased who is visiting in New Orleans, has not been informed of the sad tidings.
