Death Calls John Brooks

John F. Brooks, a well known and popular saloonkeeper, of Sausalito, died at his home on Sunday from an attack of acute pneumonia and was buried in Fernwood cemetery on Wednesday.

The deceased contracted a severe cold several weeks ago which later developed into acute pneumonia, which finally claimed him notwithstanding the hard fight he made. Jack, as he was generally known, came to Sausalito twelve years ago and later on married Miss Cora Mullaney, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mullaney. He was highly esteemed by all who now extend their sincere sympathy to his bereaved wife. Among the flowers at his funeral were handsome floral pieces from Sausalito Aerie of Eagles, Old Town Social Club, Peter Wellnitz, John Lawrence and a number of other friends.

The deceased was a native of Brooklyn, N. Y., aged 40 years and 17 days and leaves a wife Cora Brooks and a brother Harry Brooks, to mourn his death.
