John Cook

Funeral has been held for John Starr Cook, author, actor, artist and brother of Alice Kent of Kentfield.

Cook, of Tepoztlan, Morelos, Mexico, died Sunday at his home after a long illness. He was 56.

Cook was born in Honolulu. During the last 12 years while he lived in Mexico, he spent considerable time visiting his sister in Marin.

He was the author of “The New Tarot” and “For the Aquarian Age” and was co-editor of an anthology titled “The Word of One.”

Before his death he completed work on a film called “The Secret of the Royal Maze.”

Other survivors include his son, Chamba, of Houston, Tex., another sister, Dorothea Paris of Honolulu, and a brother, Robert, also of Honolulu.
