Donald Bettencourt

Donald F. Bettencourt of Ignacio, a mechanical supervisor for the Handi-Kup Corp. of Corte Madera, died yesterday at a local hospital after a short illness. He was 46.

Bettencourt was born in Ross and lived all his life in Marin. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1957, working as an aviation mechanic.

After his military service ended, he went to work for United Air Lines as a mechanic. He had worked for Handi-Kup for five years.

Bettencourt is survived by five children, all of the home address, 450 East Alameda del Prado, Mary, Katherine, Patric, Steven and David, and a brother, Wilfred H. Bettencourt, also of Novato.
