Superintendent of San Rafael Streets Dead
Peter E. Johnson, Pioneer of Marin County, Dies After Long Illness
Superintendent of streets in San Rafael for twelve years, Peter Eric Johnson died this morning at his home at 27 B street, after a long illness.
Johnson, who was born in Sweden in 1855, had been a resident of San Rafael for forty years. He was connected with the Marin County Water Co. for twenty-five years previous to his connection with the city, and took part in building the present system of reservoirs.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Charles A. Thomson of San Francisco, and by one sister, Mrs. William Carlson of Crystal Falls, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held under the auspices of I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 200, at their lodge rooms, corner of Fourth and D streets. Dr. Herbert Thomson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will have part in the services.
