H. W. Ritter Dies After Long Illness
Funeral held in San Rafael Thursday
Herman W. Ritter, a resident of San Anselmo and Fairfax since 1915, died at his home on Magnolia avenue last Monday afternoon, after an illness of two months.
Ritter formerly operated the San Anselmo bazaar and had been employed by the Fairfax Lumber company since disposing of that business about four years ago. He and Mrs. Ritter opened the Ritter Art and Stationery shop over two years ago but he kept his position with the lumber company while Mrs. Ritter had charge of the store.
The funeral was held from the Sawyer parlors on Thursday afternoon. Rev. Herbert Thompson read a passage from the bible. The Fairfax parlor of Native Daughters of which Mrs. Ritter is past president, attended in a body.
Mrs. Ritter will leave within a few days for San Pedro where her parents and other relatives are living.
