Miss Sutherland Passes Away
Christmas day was a sad one in the Sutherland family and among their immediate neighbors. Miss Mary Jane Sutherland, who had been an invalid for some time, was called away by the Supreme Being to spend Christmas Day in his realm, much to the deep regret of her relatives here. Life will never be quite the same to those who knew her, while those who were nearest to her will long for her with unutterable longings – long for her counsel and advice and her gentle and loving sympathy. She was a woman of strong Christian character; patient, loving and self-sacrificing. She was buried in Fernwood cemetery. She was a native of Scotland, aged 32 years. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Jennie Cottom, and two brothers, Louis and Archie Sutherland, to mourn her death.
