Rene Eugene Marty
San Rafael resident
A 20-year resident of San Rafael and Bay Area native, Rene Eugene Marty died Feb. 14 at the age of 86.
Mr. Marty was a hotel proprietor in San Francisco, his birth city. He was a member of the San Francisco Hotel Association, French Athletic Club and SIRS of Marin. An avid sportsman, Mr. Marty enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. One of his favorite pastimes was attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Maryella; two sons, Michel Marty of San Francisco and Gene Marty of Tiburon; two daughters, Joan McKnight of Larkspur and Maryanne Ierides of Pearl City, Hawaii; sister, Marie Whitlock of Vancouver, Wash.; and eleven grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and a vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Evergreen Mortuary, Geary Boulevard and 10th Avenue, San Francisco. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Notre Dame des Victoires, 566 Bush St., San Francisco.
