Death of Pioneer David Morton

David Morton, a pioneer of San Rafael, aged 86 years, passed away at his home in this city last Saturday morning….(illegible)….schools for about 30 years and during this time endeared himself to teachers and pupils.

His work was always done in a conscientious manner and he was faithful to every charge given him, and even obliged the teachers by cashing their warrants for them.

The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist church, of which deceased was a devout member. Reverend Simmons pronounced a eulogy, paying highest tributes to his character.

Interment took place in Mt. Tamalpais cemetery.
