ARTHUR T. VANING
Arthur T. Vaning, 89-year-old longtime Kentfield resident, died Thursday in a local hospital after a long illness.
Vaning, who served with the Army Engineers in France in World War I, was the last living founding member of Tamalpais Post 72, Veterans of Foreign Wars. The post earlier this year honored Vaning for his service and 5-year membership.
Vaning and his brother, William, long operated the Vaning Bros. tree service in San Rafael.
Funeral arrangements were pending today at Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
