Death of William McAllister
William F. McAllister, a pioneer Californian, who has been prominent in San Francisco for years, died in San Rafael Thursday afternoon, July 24th, 1902. He had been spending a summer vacation at Vichy Springs, and while there took sick from a complication of troubles, and about a week before his death was brought to San Rafael where he occupied the Thomas cottage until his death. He was 78 years of age and had been a resident of San Francisco for 50 years, and at different times had resided in San Rafael temporarily, so that he was regarded almost as one of our citizens. He was born at sea under an English flag.
For years he was a member of the firm of Madison, Burke, & McAllister in San Francisco, and was recognized as a man of high standing. He was a man of means and owned considerable property in and around San Rafael.
The funeral was conducted from Masonic temple in San Francisco Sunday with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
