Albert Boyen, Formerly Banker Here, Succumbs

Stricken with a heart attack as he was entering a store in San Francisco Monday, Albert N. Boyen, prominent resident of San Rafael for many years but lately of San Francisco, died before he reached a hospital where he was rushed immediately. He spent Thanksgiving Day here as the guest of his sister, Mrs. Stephen Eden, and seemed to be in the best of health.

Coming to San Rafael as an infant, Mr. Boyen received his education here. He was for a long period assistant cashier of the A. P. Hotalling Bank and remained with that institution for some years after it became the Bank of San Rafael.

He was a member of the city council for several terms, and was secretary of the city library board for many years. During the year of 1915 he was master of Marin Lodge F. & A. M., and was a member of California Bodies No. 5, A.A.R.F. and also of Marin Lodge No. 200, I.O.O.F. Active in civic work, he was deeply interested in everything pertaining to the advancement and growth of San Rafael and Marin County.

The remains were brought to the home of Mrs. Eden here Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at two o’clock at the Masonic Temple under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge.
