Mrs. Jennie Thomas Dies at Home Here After Long Illness
After an illness of several years, Mrs. Jennie A. Thomas, a resident of San Rafael for the past 27 years and mother of Acting Chief of Police Vernon D. Thomas, died Saturday at her home on Fourth street. Mrs. Thomas was born in New York 72 years ago, and had made her home in California since she was a young child.
She is survived by her husband, T. W. Thomas; two sons, Vernon De Witt and T. W. Thomas Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Adolph Schaad, and three grandchildren – Vernon De Witt Thomas Jr., Dorothy E. Thomas and T. W. Thomas III.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at 11:30 at the mortuary of Keaton & Dusel, with the Rev. John Jefferson Canoles officiating. Interment took place at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery.
