G. W. Merk, of Duncan's Mills, father of William D., Charles, and Henrietta Merk of this city, met with an accident, about a week ago while hauling lumber in Green Valley. The spine was injured, his limbs paralyzed, and death ensued from the accident last Sunday, at Santa Rosa. He was 66 years of age.
