Lillian Hess Dies After Heart Attack
Mrs. Lillian Drew Hess, a resident of San Rafael for 55 years, died yesterday of a heart attack in a local hospital.
Mrs. Hess was born in San Francisco and came to San Rafael in 1905. She and her husband, Rolla B. Hess, were married in San Rafael in 1930. Hess is a retired contractor.
They lived all their married life at 120 H Street, a home built by the father of Mrs. Hess, the late Joseph Drew of San Rafael.
Mrs. Hess was for many years an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in San Rafael and of the San Rafael Improvement Club.
During World War I she did volunteer work for the Red Cross.
She is survived by her husband of the family home and a brother, Gerald J. Drew of San Rafael.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael.
Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.
