HELEN OHMAN
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in San Rafael for Helen L. (Applegate) Ohman, 98-year-old longtime San Rafael resident.
She died Friday at Hillhaven Convalescent Hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Ohman, a native of Paris, France, came to California in 1911. She had lived in San Rafael since 1927.
Mrs. Ohman was a registered nurse, whose career consisted mainly of private duty nursing through Ross General Hospital and t he old San Rafael General Hospital.
She also served as a nurse with the Red Cross during World War I.
Her husband, John Ohman, died in 1937.
Mrs. Ohman is survived by two sisters, Jennie Wood of Pleasant Hill and Mary Griggs of Stockton.
The family prefers memorial gifts to the Marin Heart Association.
