John Valsecchi
A Mass of Christian Burial for John Valsecchi of Sonoma, a former San Rafael dairyman, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Solano Church in Sonoma.
Mr. Valsecchi died Thursday at the Sonoma Care and Convalescent Hospital. He was 95.
He was a native of Minusio, Switzerland, and came to the United States in 1920. He first worked for Louis Giacometti at the Giacometti Dairy in Petaluma.
Mr. Valsecchi later went into the dairy business on his own and operated a dairy in San Rafael. He lived many years in Sonoma.
He is survived by his wife, Assunta Valsecchi of Sonoma, a daughter, Mary Mick of San Rafael; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Duggan’s Mission Chapel in Sonoma. Entombment will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Sonoma.
The family prefers that contributions be made to the Hanna Boys Center in Sonoma or to a favorite charity.
