Accidental Death

JOHN A. WEST, employed on the Burdell Ranch near Novato, was missed from the ranch Thursday, and a search being made for him, he was found in a woodpile with a shotgun near him and his head blown off. He evidently was going to make a shortcut over a fence and in doing so, had to pass this woodpile, and it is presumed that he stumbled and fell with disastrous results to himself.

West was a native of New York and 44 years of age. His wife is now on her way to this State, having left New York last Wednesday. Coroner Eden held an inquest and the jury rendered a verdict of accidental death.
