ALFRED MANSIE, 83

Alfred Mansie, 83, a retired lumber company executive of San Anselmo and a Marin County resident since 1911, died at a local hospital today after an illness of nearly five years.

Mansie, a bachelor, had resided with his niece, Mrs. E. L. Dolan and her son, Edward, at 41 Prospect avenue, San Anselmo. Besides Mrs. Dolan and her son, he is survived by another niece, Mrs. Harry G. Shaw of San Jose.

Mansie was a native of Scotland. He retired several years ago as an executive of Wendling-Nathan Lumber Co. of San Francisco, where he had been employed for 30 years.

Before coming to this county in 1909, Mansie had been an attorney in Scotland. He attended the University of Aberdeen.

Funeral services will be private, directed by Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.
