JAMES ASHTON

Memorial graveside service will be held for James T. Ashton of San Rafael at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland.

Ashton died Friday in a local hospital after a short illness.

A native of Denver, Colo., Ashton was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, N.Y. He had been chief engineer for the Oliver Farm Equipment Co., Battle Creek, Mich., and chief engineer for the agricultural section of Ford Motor Co. He retired in 1956.

He moved from Salt Lake City to San Rafael two years ago to resided at 1436 Grand Avenue.

Ashton was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Society of Agricultural Engineers.

He is survived by his wife, Olive M. Ashton; a daughter, Mrs. M. Mario Ramos of San Rafael; a son, James W. Ashton of Salinas and seven grandchildren.
