William Guiney
Point Reyes Station resident
William E. Guiney, 79, of Point Reyes Station, died July 6.
The San Francisco native lived in Vallejo before moving to West Marin.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. Following military service, he worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard.
For 12 years he worked in the maintenance department of West Marin School.
Mr. Guiney enjoyed fishing, camping, and home projects. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Olema.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon M. Smitherman of New York; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and sisters Doramay Cirimelli of San Francisco and Patricia Guiney.
His wife, Mary D. Guiney, died earlier.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Olema. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the church. Friends may call at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary in Petaluma from 10 p.m. (sic) to 5 p.m. on Monday.
Burial will be at Olema Cemetery.
