MARGARET PALMER
Margaret M. Palmer, a resident of Novato for four years, died yesterday at a local convalescent hospital after a long illness. She was 68.
Mrs. Palmer was born in Salem, Ore., and moved to Oakland about 45 years ago. She worked 34 years there for Postal Telegraph and Western Union as a messenger clerk, bookkeeper and assistant manager until her retirement in 1963.
When her husband, Bert G. Palmer, retired as landscape gardener for the City of Oakland in 1971, the couple moved to 617 El Arroyo Place, Novato.
They were married 39 years.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Palmer is survived by a sister, Florence Marsh of Fresno, and a brother, Charles Phillips of the Orient.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. at Saint Anthony’s Church, Novato. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael. Contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Society are preferred.
