McGREGOR, William Donald, formerly of Marinwood, passed away December 2, 2001. Hogan, Sullivan & Bianco, 415-664-2413.
William Donald McGregor
Passed away December 2, 2001, with his wife at his side, after a valiant struggle with leukemia. He was born in Merced Falls, California on August 22, 1927 to William and Jesse Hossack McGregor. He lived much of his younger years in Antioch and Berkeley. After serving in the Navy, he graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1952. In 1953, he married Barbara Rose Loomis and remained with her until her death in 1974. They were residents of Marinwood and together they were the parents of Katie Jane McGregor (Roger Mitchell), William Grant (Robin) and Elizabeth Anne (Jeff) Spencer. In 1982, he married Susan (Samm) Huber. He retired as a contracting manager from US Steel in 1984. Thereafter, he worked in litigation support. Bill and Samm took great joy in their life together, traveling, sharing good books and spending their time between San Francisco and Mendocino. He was also an avid golfer. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his grandchildren: Melissa, Alexandra, Marshall and Riley McGregor, Joseph and Jacob William Spencer. He was predeceased by his precious granddaughter McKenzie Rose Spencer in 1995 and his sister Jane Brandon in 1999. Bill was a man who maintained friendships for decades and he will be missed by many. There will be no Services. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Leukemia Society.
