GHIRINGHELLI, Albert, 79, of San Rafael, passed away December 4, 2001. Keaton's, San Rafael, 415-453-0571.

Albert left San Rafael, his home town, early Tuesday, December 4th, 2001 after 79 years. Born in July, Al hunted and fished right here in town and was a local history expert. Al married Kathleen Cummesky, also born in San Rafael, and celebrated 55 years of love together. His father and mother, Ambrose and Rosa, created The Tamalpais Restaurant Bar & Hotel and The Tamalpais Liquor & Delicatessen in San Rafael, which Al ran for years. Al made the BEST barbecued rosemary chicken. Al graduated St. Raphael's Grammar and San Rafael High Schools. He retired from the Grocery UFCW and was loved by many shoppers. Favorite pets were Springer Spaniels and, in his youth, a raccoon and birds. A champion gunshot, dog trainer and field trial competitor, Al's love of nature, outdoors, camping and wildlife were tops. Al is survived by wife Kathleen, sons Kenny and spouse Aura, and Bill, grandchildren Matt, Tina, Billy, Aury and Perla and great grandkids Elijah and Christian. Friends, Memorial Mass Saturday December 15, 2001 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael's Mission Chapel and remembrance/wake at The Ghiringhelli's Deer Park Villa Restaurant at Noon. Private interment Mt. Olivet, arrangements Keaton's Mortuary. Memorial gifts in Al's name: a favorite charity or The Diabetes Foundation. "Never say goodbye, always say see you later."
