JOHN D. STEELE
A private family service for John D. Steele, 86, of Rohnert Park, former manager of the California State Automobile Association office in San Rafael, at 10 a.m. Monday at Daniels Chapel of the Roses in Santa Rosa.
Steele died Friday in a Santa Rosa hospital after a short illness.
Steele, who had been manager at the San Rafael office for 32 years and a longtime resident of San Rafael, moved to Rohnert Park about three years ago.
Steele had been a longtime member of the San Rafael Elks Lodge and a member of San Joaquin Lodge No. 19, Free and Accepted Masons of Stockton for more than 60 years.
He was a native of Angels Camp, Calaveras County, and served in the Army during World War I.
Surviving are his wife, Leoda Steele of Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa; a son Robert C. Steele of Stateline, Nev.; a grandson, and two great-grandchildren.
Private inurnment will be at Santa Rosa Memorial Park. The family prefers that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 811 College Ave., Santa Rosa 95404, or the Heart Association of the Redwood Empire, 447 College Ave., Santa Rosa 95404
