EDNA B. BARTON
A Resident of Inverness
Died peacefully at her home in Inverness on April 6, 2001 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of life-long entertainer and professional musician Richard Montague ("Monte") Barton, deceased.
Edna is survived by her niece Marianne Griffith of Tracy, California, her nephew William J. Brockman of Kimberly, Idaho, special friends Maury and Bonnie Wolohan and family of Inverness, and many loving friends and neighbors from Inverness in West Marin.
Edna was born in Midway, California September 7, 1908 on the ranch her grandfather homesteaded in 1872 and that still remains in the family today.
Edna was a longtime member of the Inverness Garden Club, and a member of the Vallombrosa Retreat Center of Menlo Park. Edna was an active member of the Sacred Heart parish and for many years provided beautiful flower arrangements for the church each weekend gathered from her friends' local gardens throughout the Inverness area. Her floral arrangements reflected both the beauty of the seasons and the changing themes of the liturgical year.
A Vigil Service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Olema. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, with interment immediately following at Olema Cemetery.
Donations in Edna's memory may be made to the Sacred Heart Parish Building Fund, or to the charity of your choice.
