Joseph Mendoza, 97, Is Buried At Mt. Olivet
One of Marin’s colorful figures, Joseph Mendoza, a long-time resident of Bolinas, died in Mill Valley last week at the age of 97. A native of the Azores, he had lived in Marin County for the past 83 years.
The only survivors are a niece, Mrs. Mary Lewis of San Jose, and a nephew, Antonio Nunes of Mill Valley.
Funeral services were held on Monday at the Robert F. Russell chapel in Mill Valley, with requiem mass in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10 a.m. He was buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
