Wound Is Fatal To Frank Bottini
Victim of Assault in H Street Dies At Cottage Hospital, Murder to be Charged
The death of Francisco Bottini at 1:30 o’clock this morning at the Cottage Hospital was the expected aftermath of the street battle at H and Sixth , almost a week ago last Monday.
John Carpano is in the county jail and today will be charged with ___?___ by District Attorney Butler.
Carpano was held for trial by Justice of the Peace Magee on a complaint sworn to by Andri Torno of assault with a deadly weapon.
A hearing of that case evidence has adduced that indicated Carpano’s responsibility for the injury to Bottini
__illegible line__ _oli and Torno, who had previously worked on the sewer job at that corner, and had been discharged, called to get their wages. Then engaged in conversation with Elia Noe, who was also working in the trench. A row started between Carpano and Bottini, who were working 30(?) feet away. They testify that they saw Carpano strike Bottini on the head with a shovel. He then climbed out of the ditch and started after Erciroli and Torno, who ran. His attack on Torno was the basis of the charge on which he is held.
Bottini is a brother-in-law of P. Canziani, proprietor of the Milano Market at No. 1 B street. The remains are at Sawyer’s Parlors.

San Rafael December 28. Francisco Bottini, an Italian ditch digger, died at the Cottage Hospital, San Rafael, Thursday morning of injuries received in a street battle ten days ago in which the larger part of his brains were knocked out with a shovel. John Carpano, Bottini’s assailant, will probably be indicted for murder.
