ROBERT W. BERCH
Funeral service for Robert W. Berch, 46, of Mill Valley, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel.
He died at his home Monday.
Berch was a pilot for World Airways for about 11 years. He flew mainly to Europe from the Oakland International Airport.
He had lived in Mill Valley since November.
The native of Pennsylvania served two tours in Vietnam as a pilot for the U.S. Air Force. He was shot down once during the war. He received many medals for his service, including the flying cross and purple heart.
He obtained a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1963.
He is survived by his wife, Sungsoon Berch of Walnut Creek; and fiancé, Marci Kamp of Mill Valley.
Burial will be private. Visitation is set for today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
