Daly City Painter Dies in Mill Valley

William J. Clinton, a painter of Daly City, died suddenly of heart trouble Monday in Mill Valley where he was at work on a house. He was about 65 years of age.

According to his son, who was working with him at the time, the deceased descended from a stepladder apparently sensing an approaching attack, lay down on the floor carefully, and passed away. The son notified Dr. Spottiswood, who arrived in a short time and pronounced the man dead.

The remains were removed to San Rafael by Coroner J. Ray Keaton and later shipped to San Francisco for burial. Clinton was a member of Castro Parlor, of the Native Sons.

Clinton and his wife, Mrs. Etta Clinton, and his son, Edward, were well known in Mill Valley, where they had resided summers for 5 years.
