MABEL BELCHER

Funeral for Mabel J. Belcher, an early Belvedere resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Harry M. Williams Mortuary, San Rafael. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Belcher, 95, died Sunday in a local hospital after a long illness.

Born in San Francisco, Mrs. Belcher moved with her late husband, E. Howard Belcher, to Belvedere in 1908, building a home at 43 Alcatraz Avenue. The couple lived in the home until 1959, when they moved to 00 (sic) Alcatraz Avenue.

Belcher, who died in 1963, was a self-employed manufacturer’s representative dealing in fabrics.

Surviving are two grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A Death Notice on the same page adds the following information: she was the mother of the late Helen Belcher, and grandmother of Mrs. Laurie A. McGuinness of Belvedere and Craig Angel of Los Angeles and the late Peter Angel.
